This piece was the first made with a new frame design that lets me to weave onto two different surfaces of the loom, inside the center ring and then the inside of the outer one. I love the the way it allowed me to layer the hard and soft surfaces and really bring the central weave forward and off of the wall.
The colors put this piece into my Alaska collection and were inspired by Margerie Glacier at the head of Glacier Bay. It's instinctual to think of ice as clear or white, so it's startling to see the deep teal colors hidden in the fissures of the ice face.
