The fine white crystals of sand, shimmering with radiant heat and reflecting so much bright light that sunglasses are mandatory, is dotted with pink shells along the shoreline. The water is crystal clear turquoise, revealing the ripples that the lapping waves have etched into the wet sand. Crossing the expanse of sand is torture on my toes so I race towards the water, knowing that I will find relief and bliss as I plunge into the sea.
