wp – tidal pool

Description

When this frame came out of the kiln,  my brain was immediately filled with imagery of the sea-side, of rocks covered in slippery plant life and tidal pools filled with captured life. Have you ever looked into a bottle that’s been sunk into the water of a tidal pool? There is so much to see in the shallow waters of a wild aquarium! The crab and fish are biding their time for the tide to come back and set them free, while the anemones and barnacles patiently wait for for anything to get close enough to become a meal. I have tried to pour those images into this weaving, with the colors and textures, flashes of light and deep shadows to be found in those pools. There are even pearl and seashell beads in there.
