Description

At the end of the day the bright blue of the heavens deepens into shades of lilac and plum while the fading light casts a warm glow over the world.   Clouds on the horizon catch the dying flames, shining with gold and ginger for the brief minutes that it takes for the sun to sink below that distant line.  Sunsets are common – after all they happen every day – but that does not make them any less magical!

The 6 inch frame for this piece was thrown on a pottery wheel in a dark clay and then glazed in lilac.   The fibers in the weaving include nylon, cotton, and wool.   The beads are glass, jasper, agate and cultured pearls.
