wp – fresh
As the days of spring begin to get longer, trees respond to the extra light and heat by budding out in chartreuse leaflets. The happy blue sky shines down on them, glowing like thousands of cut peridots swaying in the breeze. The greedy leaves quickly soak up the light and fill with chlorophyl and so the fresh bright green is fleeting, but fear not, it will return next year.
The 5.5 inch frame for this piece was thrown on a pottery wheel in speckled clay and then glazed in pale yellow. The fibers in the weaving include nylon, jute, silk, wood and alpaca. The beads are glass, jasper and cultured pearls.
