wp – night two

Description

Seeing the moon on a dark crisp night makes me smile every time. I’ve seen each of its phases hundreds of times in my lifetime but it never gets old. For me I think the crescent – the barest of skinny slivers of light – is the most breathtaking. I also love the full moon so maybe I need to weave one of those too!

The design on this one began with the frame, spacing the holes for the weft just so that they would cross off-center and create the gap for the moon. Filling that gap to create the moon was a new challenge for me as this is the first time I’ve not worked in full circles. I”m also happy with the way the random silver beads created constellations in the center.
